The Board is responsible for governance and the strategic direction of the Association. The twelve directors are members of the Association and are elected by its members at their annual general meetings. The President and Vice President are elected by the Directors. The Board comprises an Executive and three sub committees: Strategic Alliances, Media Relations & Membership Services and Research, Professional Development & Conference.
Darlene Jones is a people person who has a passion for human resource development. With her strong administrative and leadership skills she has worked in this area for most of her life.
She is currently the Executive Director of the Jamaica Institute of Financial Services (JIFS) where she has successfully transitioned the organisation through various stages and has developed various significant strategic business relationships.
Darlene has a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management and a first degree in Professional Management, both from Nova Southeastern University.
As an active member of the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ), she has successfully chaired its annual HR conference for a number of years and was elected HRMAJ Member of the Year in 2007. She is currently a member of the Board of HRMAJ.
Darlene served as Board member of the Joint Committee on Tertiary Education (JCTE) up to January 2015 and has been serving on the Board of New Generation - a Christian, non-profit camping organization that seeks to positively impact the lives of young people since 2009. She is the Director of Christian Education at Grace Missionary Church.
Darlene is married to Carl and is the proud mother of four daughters.
