ORGANIZATIONAL RENEWAL A company which keeps itself relevant will have little need to create strategies for organizational renewal. At the heart of remaining relevant is the understanding of a company's mission, how it creates value and for whom. Evolving customer needs must direct the continuous reshaping of the company. It must have a vision, and a strategy that are unequivocal, easily understood and owned by its employees. Its’ leaders should create and maintain a culture of the right to challenge and the right to be challenged. They must sing from the same song sheet, as diverse individuals who have bought into a shared vision and who appreciate that their voice must add to the special resonance of the music the company creates. Management must have the tactical capacity to ‘pinch hit’ for each other, all rowing in the same direction towards a future that they can all see. The leaders must align themselves and everyone in the organization and everything they do to the organization’s strategy. Each employee must know where the company is going and what is expected of them in order to reach the destination. Importantly, leaders must hold themselves and all employees accountable to deliver the expectations.
